	A scénoparc in the Mercantour mountains In 1992, wolves naturally returned to France where they are destined to last. It all happened not far from here, in the Mercantour national park, only steps away from Saint Martin Vésubie, the locality in which ALPHA is implanted. We weren’t prepared for this return and coexistence with the predator has revived quarrels which we thought to be forgotten. We did not only create this Scenopark and its story of man and wolf for you to discover a fascinating animal in the most stunning of environments. We also wanted you to hear about what our sheep herders think as the guardians of our traditions, what animal behaviour specialists can teach us, what the wolf hunters that are the memory of this country can tell us.
